As a Home Health Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA), here's a big-picture view of what you'll do:

  • Provide treatment under the direction of the supervising occupational therapist and in accordance with each patient's plan of care.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic activities that support daily living and functional independence.
  • Document patient progress and responses to treatment.
  • Communicate with the occupational therapist and other care team members to coordinate care.
  • Observe changes in patients' abilities and report concerns to the supervising occupational therapist.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities.

A few must-haves for Home Health Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants (COTA):

  • Current Colorado license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • At least two years of occupational therapy assistant experience; home health experience preferred
  • Current CPR certification, including a hands on demonstration course
  • Knowledge of applicable home health regulations
  • Sound clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and a compassionate approach to care
