    JOB TYPE: Full-Time Permanent



    Job Description:


    We are looking to hire an upbeat and professional Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA), to assist the supervising health care team with the everyday activities of patients in a home health & assisted living facility setting. Addressing deficits in a patient’s ability to perform activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) relative to physical, cognitive, and/or psychological impairments. 



    Responsibilities:

    • Support patient health and participation in life through engaging in everyday activities in collaboration with other health care providers.
    • Observe patients they are working with before, during and after therapy and communicating report notes to health care team for optimal patient care.
    • Counsel patients and families on what to do following treatment.
    • Functions as a team member in care of patients.
    • Documents patient care and billing information timely and in accordance with department standards.
    • Maintains clinical productivity standards.
    • Participates in in-services, staff meetings, quality activities and aspects of program development.
    • Maintains awareness of patient safety issues within their home and in the use of equipment. Assists in the maintenance of patient care equipment as needed.
    • May have other duties assigned as needed.

    Requirements:

    • Graduate from an accredited Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant program required.
    • Current Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) license within State of practice.
    • CPR certification with American Heart Association or America Red Cross.
    • 1 year of experience. 
    • Home Health experience preferred.
    • Positive attitude and dedication to quality patient care.
    • Adequate written and verbal skills.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation.
