Certified Occupational Tharapy Assistant (COTA)

Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg, a 5-Star rated Continuing Care Retirement Community in Central VA is seeking a Certified Occpational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team! PRN/Limbo position available for flexible day shift hours.

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is responsible for performing occupational therapy treatments as ordered by qualified physicians and directed by an Occupational Therapist in accordance with current federal, state occupational therapy standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the Home Health Agency, and/or Home Care Agency to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. Is knowledgeable of and supports the philosophy, purpose, goals, and policies of Senior Independence, and consistently complies with the Client Bill of Rights.

• Performs occupational therapy treatment as directed by the physician and directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Guides the client in use of therapeutic and self-care activities for the purpose of improving function and increasing independence.
• Instructs the client, family members and other health team members to incorporate therapeutic and self-care activities in to the treatment program, encouraging them to follow those procedures so they can safely perform or supervise the activities.
• Maintains current and/or paper/chart documentation in accordance with corporate policies, federal, state, and local guidelines.

• Hold an unencumbered license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Hold current CPR certification.
• Have one (1) year experience as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.

Compensation details: 40-50 Hourly Wage
