Job Schedule

6:30pm - 6:00am (12-hour shifts), working every other weekend. 30 hours per week. (40 hours may be available but is not promised)

  • Assist residents with transfers, ambulation, eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, personal hygiene, and other activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Follow instructions to use simple procedures and devices to improve residents' limb strength and flexibility.
  • Assist nursing staff with basic medical procedures such as suppositories, enemas, treatments, post-surgical care, and post-mortem care.
  • Monitor the physical and mental status of residents by using appropriate medical equipment and techniques to take vital signs, obtain samples, and track input/output.
  • Responsible for medical record and worksheet documentation for all assigned residents. Keep records and prepare simple reports.
  • Assist residents with dining, including transportation to the dining room, informing them about menu choices, communicating with dining staff, serving meals, and assisting as necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation by changing bedding, linens, and other items.
  • Respond to and assist licensed nurses in emergency situations rapidly and appropriately following established policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties such as transporting residents to appointments outside the facility and clerical duties as needed.
  • Actively participate in Arizona Management System (AMS) processes such as Huddle Boards, Problem Solving, Job Breakdown Sheets, Success Tracking, and Standardized Work.
  • Participate fully in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program mandated by CMS, which incorporates AMS.

Knowledge of:

  • Principles, practices, and techniques of para-professional nursing care, treatment, and services appropriate to the work setting.
  • State and agency laws and regulations governing para-professional nursing practices.
  • Practices and procedures of using medical equipment in assigned duties.
  • Practices and techniques for maintaining a safe, orderly, therapeutic, and hygienic environment.

Skills in:

  • Applying methods and techniques of para-professional nursing practices.
  • Applying and interpreting State and agency laws and regulations governing para-professional nursing practices.
  • Using and maintaining medical equipment.
  • Maintaining a safe, orderly, therapeutic, and hygienic environment.
  • Recording, maintaining, filing, and retrieving medical records.
  • Verbal and written communication.

Ability to:

  • Establish and maintain effective work relationships.
  • Learn, implement, and monitor Arizona Management System (AMS) methods.

Education

Active Certified Nursing Assistant Certification required.
