Our CNAs are an integral part of our care team at Luther Ridge. CNAs have the opportunity to get to know our residents on a deeper level while providing long-term assistance with activities of daily living in our Assisted Living community in beautiful Middletown, Connecticut.

Position Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant provides direct care and assistance to residents and helps ensure that each resident’s needs are met in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and Luther Ridge policies and procedures.

Available Shift: 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m., with a rotating schedule.
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday.

Essential Responsibilities

Provide direct resident care utilizing established standards and procedures.
Assist residents with medication checks and reminders and report medication-related issues to the nurse.
Report unusual resident signs, symptoms, or changes in condition to the nurse in charge.
Complete and document assigned temperatures and weights for residents.
Accurately document resident care on the resident flow sheet each shift.
Conduct safety rounds at the beginning and end of each shift.
Serve meal trays and monitor dining areas during mealtimes.
Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing and dressing.
Promote and respect residents’ rights, dignity, independence, and quality of life.
Maintain the confidentiality of resident information.
Complete additional assignments as needed to help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment.
Attend required meetings, in-service programs, and annual mandatory education.
Fulfill continuing education and in-service requirements necessary to maintain certification as a Nursing Assistant.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Current State of Connecticut Certified Nursing Assistant certification required.
Prior experience working with older adults/geriatrics preferred.
Ability to safely assist residents with bathing, dressing, and other activities of daily living.
Ability to provide compassionate, respectful, and resident-centered care.
