    About the Role

    As part of a strong clinical team, providing amazing care and service to our residents is the primary responsibility of our CNA Med-Tech. The purpose of this position is to administer medications to each resident, ensuring they receive the necessary care and services to attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being through comprehensive assessment and plans of care. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse and reporting to the Charge Nurse, you will maintain clean equipment and report all observations to ensure optimal resident health.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Medication Administration: Administer routinely scheduled oral and topical medications according to physician orders via scanning per policy to assigned residents.


    • Monitoring & Documentation: Monitor and record vital signs per physician orders and standards of practice, and maintain accurate documentation of all medications and treatments based on policy and best practices.


    • Communication & Safety: Report any unusual or unwanted medication side effects, outdate medications, or projected shortages to the Charge Nurse immediately.


    • Inventory & Process Support: Assist the Charge Nurse with returning, re-ordering, and destroying medications per facility policy, and make suggestions to resolve problems or streamline the medication system.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Education: High School Graduate or GED.


    • Licensure & Certification: Must be a graduate of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program and active on the Maine CNA Registry, plus successful completion of a state-approved Nursing Assistant-Medication training program.


    • Technical Skills: Must be able to interact with our computer-based Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
