Description

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who provides direct care and support to hospitalized psychiatric patients, assisting with daily living activities while maintaining patient safety and comfort. The CNA will work closely with the nursing team and follow all facility, safety, and regulatory standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care to hospitalized psychiatric/behavioral health patients.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, grooming, feeding, and mobility.
  • Monitor and record vital signs and report significant changes to nursing staff.
  • Monitor patients for safety risks and respond appropriately to emergencies.
  • Perform accurate computer data entry and documentation.
  • Follow facility Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
  • Maintain compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, HHSC, and facility policies/directives.
  • Support a safe, respectful, and therapeutic patient environment.
  • Work collaboratively with nurses and other healthcare staff.

Qualifications

  • Current CNA certification/license in Texas.
  • Active BLS
  • Minimum 1+ years of recent experience
