Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Job Overview

• BrightStar Care is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide one-on-one home health care to clients in their own homes.
• The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will follow an RN-developed care plan and deliver safe, dignified, and high-quality care.
• As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in home health, you will support clients with daily needs, mobility, safety, and emotional well-being.
• The role requires a dependable and professional Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who can work independently while communicating effectively with the clinical team.
• This position is ideal for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who values flexibility, meaningful work, and building trusted relationships with clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide ADL assistance: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, hygiene.
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility using gait belts, Hoyer lifts, slide boards, etc.
• Monitor and report changes in condition to the supervising RN immediately.
• Offer medication reminders as directed in the care plan (no med administration).
• Provide specialized in-home care for clients with:
• Dementia / Alzheimer's
• Developmental disabilities
• Chronic illness
• Memory care needs
• Maintain infection control standards and proper PPE use.
• Document care tasks and observations using BrightStar's mobile EMR/app.
• Follow the RN-created care plan and communicate updates promptly.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment within the client's home.
• Provide companionship, emotional support, and promote client independence.
• Protect client confidentiality and uphold HIPAA regulations.

Experience & Requirements

• Active California Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
• BLS/CPR preferred.
• Prior home health CNA or in-home care experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with seniors, dementia clients, or individuals with disabilities is a plus.
• Ability to work independently in client homes and manage time effectively.
• Comfort using mobile apps for charting (training provided).
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license (if required).
