Our Memory Care CNAs provide hands-on care and support to veterans experiencing memory loss, confusion, changes in behavior, or difficulty communicating their needs.
What Makes Memory Care Different?
Memory Care requires a special kind of caregiver. We are looking for CNAs who understand that behavior is communication and can provide care with patience, reassurance, consistency, and respect.
Key Qualifications
- Current Texas CNA certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and nursing staff.
- Patient, compassionate, dependable, and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Ability to recognize and report changes in a resident’s condition or behavior.
- Memory Care, dementia care, long-term care, or geriatric experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily nursing care according to each resident’s assessment and care plan.
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, positioning, and other activities of daily living.
- Provide reassurance and redirection while maintaining a calm, supportive environment.
- Observe and promptly report changes in resident condition or behavior.
- Assist with meals, hydration, activities, and social programs.
- Follow resident safety protocols and complete required documentation.
- Protect resident privacy and provide care with kindness, dignity, and respect.
- Work as part of the care team to provide consistent, resident-centered care.
