Position Title Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA/GNA) Instructor FLSA Non-Exempt FT/PT Part Time Hours Per Week 25 Work Schedule Monday-Friday Position Salary Range $44-50 hourly Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students enrolled in the CNA-I program. This role involves teaching both classroom theory and clinical skills, preparing students for state certification through the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON), and fostering a supportive learning environment that promotes student success in the healthcare field.

Essential Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging curriculum aligned with state CNA-I certification requirements.
  • Teach classroom, lab, and clinical components of the CNA-I program.
  • Utilize the learning management system (LMS), Canvas to facilitate online learning.
  • Evaluate student performance through exams, practical assessments, and clinical evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and grading through Canvas.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations governing CNA-I education.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student learning and program development.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to students pursuing careers in healthcare.
  • Participate in professional development and maintain current licensure and certifications.

Minimum Education Required Experience Required

  • Current Maryland‑licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • Must be in good standing with MBON with an active license and no disciplinary actions.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year in a long‑term care facility. Prior teaching or training experience of adult learners is strongly preferred.
  • Completion of, or readiness to complete, the Train‑the‑Trainer course to qualify for teaching the CNA‑I class if prior teaching experience of adult learners is not present.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commitment to fostering student academic success.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching in adult education setting.
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms and instructional technology.
  • Bilingual abilities (if applicable to student population).
