Shift:Days; 0630–1900(6:30 am- 7:00 pm MST); Full-time opportunity for3 days/week, 12-hour shifts(.9 FTE, 72 hours per pay period)

Compensation: $20.56/ hour — $29.61/hour; plusapplicable shift differentials for eveningsand weekends

Join Our Specialized Neuro-Rehabilitation Teams!

Join our specialized neuro-rehabilitation units,4 West and 2 East,where you will make a profound impact on the lives of patients recovering from complex spinal cord and brain injuries. As a vital member of our team, you will care for patients with paraplegia, tetraplegia, traumatic brain injuries, and other complex neurological conditions in an environment dedicated to restoring hope and independence.

We are seeking a dedicatedRehabilitation Technician I / Behavioral Attendant (Rehab Tech I / BA)to join our patient care team. This role, commonly known in the healthcare industry as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), works side-by-side with nursing staff, therapists, and physicians to support individuals recovering from spinal cord injuries (SCI), brain injuries (BI), and other complex neurological conditions.

As a vital member of the care team, you’ll help maintain a safe, supportive, and healing environment while assisting patients with daily living tasks, reinforcing therapeutic goals, and providing meaningful engagement throughout the rehabilitation process. 4 West: Advanced Spinal Cord Injury Care (SCI) (26 Beds)

  • Primary Population:Support direct care for patients with traumatic spinal cord injuries, including paraplegia and tetraplegia.
  • Diverse Diagnoses:Assist in the daily care of a small census of patients with spinal cord disorders like Guillain-Barré syndrome, West Nile virus, and transverse myelitis.
  • High-Acuity Skills:Gain advanced skills by assisting with complex wound prevention, monitoring for autonomic regulation, tracking neurogenic bowel and bladder programs, and supporting respiratory safety protocols (ventilators and tracheostomies).

2 East: Dual Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) & Brain Injury (BI) Specialties (19 Beds)

  • Primary Population:Deliver versatile hands-on care for spinal cord injury patients alongside a consistent population of brain injury (BI) patients.
  • Dynamic Environment:Adapt quickly in a vital overflow environment that addresses exceptionally high regional brain injury referrals.
  • Expanded Skill Set:Develop a unique, dual-specialty clinical toolkit by mastering both physical SCI assistance techniques and specialized brain injury safety, cognitive cuing, and behavioral rehabilitation strategies.

WHAT WE ARELOOKING FOR

Licensure & Certification

• Colorado Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required

• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• CNA Certification from an accredited program required

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of caregiver or direct patient care experience preferred

• Experience with individuals with SCI, TBI, or behavioral/mental health needs strongly preferred

Skills & Strengths

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to assist with multi-skilled direct patient care tasks delegated by the RN

• Understanding of patient safety principles, infection control, and trauma-informed care

• Motivated, flexible, and dependable with a positive and patient-centered attitude

• Bilingual candidates and Spanish speakers are highly encouraged to apply.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide personal care and physical assistance to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients under the supervision and direction of the RN
  • Support patients with daily hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, and dining activities, while promoting as much independence as possible
  • Reinforce therapeutic activities by assisting with patient routines and instructing on self-care and instrumental daily living skills
  • Document care provided and report changes in patient status to the RN in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assist with specific nursing care tasks, including bowel and bladder programs, catheter management, and intake/output tracking
  • Prepare patient rooms and maintain clean, well-stocked, and safe unit environments in alignment with infection prevention standards
  • Transport patients to scheduled therapy sessions and ensure timely hand-offs between shifts
  • Respect patient privacy and uphold HIPAA compliance in all interactions
  • Mentor and support onboarding of new Rehab Techs or students as requested
  • Engage patients in a manner that supports dignity, emotional well-being, and therapeutic structure
  • Collaborate with nursing and therapy teams to meet patient goals and promote a culture of teamwork and excellence
