We are currently seeking a fulltime Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at Everglades Correctional Institution located in Miami, Florida. The CNA works under the close direction of nursing, medical and psychiatric staff to perform direct patient care to incarcerated individuals. The Certified Nursing Assistant (Behavioral Health) (CNA) works under the close direction of nursing, medical, and psychiatric staff to perform direct patient care to incarcerated individuals. This professional assists patients by supporting personal hygiene, daily living needs, and vital sign monitoring.
8hr day shift
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Active Maryland Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license or ability to obtain one required
- Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- One (1) year of experience in acute care, long-term care, emergency, or correctional environment preferred
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- CNA or other medical paraprofessional certification required
- CNA licensure in Illinois required
- Training, experience or certification as a nurse's aide, medical technician or mental health worker preferred
- One year of experience in acute care, long-term care, emergency or correctional setting preferred
- Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/ BLS
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
