A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides essential support to patients and healthcare staff, assisting with daily living activities and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Measure and record patients' vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure, and report any changes to nursing staff.
- Mobility Assistance: Help patients with mobility, including transferring them between beds, wheelchairs, and other locations.
- Feeding Support: Deliver meals and assist patients with eating, ensuring dietary needs are met.
- Emotional Support: Provide compassionate emotional support to patients and their families, fostering a caring environment.
- Infection Control: Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain cleanliness in patient areas.
- Collaboration: Work closely with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care and assist with additional tasks as assigned by supervising nurses.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must be a certified nursing assistant, having completed a state-approved training program and passed the certification exam.
