Description

Position Summary: As a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) with a specialization in pediatrics at our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in the care and well-being of our young patients. You will work under the supervision of registered nurses and provide essential support in ensuring the comfort and safety of children during their healthcare journey. Your role will involve direct patient care, assisting with daily activities, and maintaining a nurturing environment for pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Patient Care:
    • Provide direct care to pediatric patients, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and diaper changes.
    • Monitor vital signs and report any abnormalities to the nursing team.
    • Assist with medical procedures, as directed by healthcare professionals.
    • Offer emotional support and comfort to young patients and their families.
  2. Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):
    • Help pediatric patients with mobility, toileting, and other ADLs.
    • Encourage and assist with age-appropriate activities and play to promote development.
  3. Communication:
    • Maintain clear and effective communication with the nursing team, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
    • Update patient records accurately and in a timely manner.
  4. Safety and Infection Control:
    • Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure the safety of pediatric patients.
    • Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of patient rooms and equipment.
  5. Education and Support:
    • Educate patients and their families on pediatric care procedures and expectations.
    • Provide guidance and support to parents and guardians as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Certification: Current CNA certification in the state of practice is required.
  • Prior Experience Requirement: At least two years prior experience working in an acute care setting with pediatric patients is required.
  • CPR Certification: Current American Heart BLS certification for healthcare providers is required.
  • Compassion: A genuine passion for working with children and providing them with exceptional care.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team.
  • Attention to Detail: Diligent in following protocols and maintaining accurate records.
