    Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant

    Specialty: Ambulatory and outpatient clinical support

    Site: Fort Yuma Health Care Center

    Exact Location: 401 Picacho Road, Winterhaven, CA 92283

    Duration: 1 year contract with the possibility of 4 more extensions

    Shift Schedule: Monday Friday, 08:00AM 05:00PM Pacific Time

    Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6 8 weeks

    Certifications:

    • Current medical assistant certification from a nationally recognized certifying organization acceptable to the Government.
    • BLS from an AHA or ARC

    Experience Needed: Minimum 2 years of recent outpatient, ambulatory, or clinic-based MA or comparable clinical support experience.

    Special Skills Needed:

    • Documented training and competency for any injections, medication-administration support, skin tests, inhalation treatments, venipuncture, specimen collection, or waived testing the MA will perform.
    • EHR and basic clinic systems.
    • Must meet California MA training, scope, and supervision requirements.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare, stock, and turn over exam rooms.
    • Room patients and record vital signs, height, weight, allergies, medication lists, and reason for visit.
    • Prepare patients and assist providers with exams and minor procedures.
    • Collect, label, and route specimens. Perform finger sticks, venipuncture, and waived/POC tasks only when trained and authorized.
    • Administer medications, immunizations, injections, skin tests, or inhalation treatments only with documented competency, an order, and supervision.
    • Enter factual EHR documentation within role permissions.
    • Front-desk and administrative support (scanning, message routing, referral packets, supply tracking) when identified in the BPA Call.
    • The MA may not diagnose, independently assess or triage, or perform licensed-practitioner functions ( 2, p.1).
