Certified Medical Assistant – Rheumatology Clinic

Tulsa, OK

Pay: $18.00–$21.00/hour DOE
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Day Shift
Job Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire

We are seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant who is organized, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced specialty practice. The ideal candidate will have previous experience with patient triage and medical scribing and enjoy working closely with a physician to deliver high-quality patient care.

Certified Medical Assistant – Must-Have Requirements

  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • Previous triage experience in a medical clinic
  • Previous medical scribing experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working in a specialty clinic is a plus
  • Proficient with EMR/EHR documentation
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment screening

Certified Medical Assistant – Position Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant will work directly with the physician to support daily clinic operations by providing both clinical and administrative assistance. This position includes patient triage, medical scribing, rooming patients, assisting with procedures, documenting patient encounters, and ensuring efficient patient flow throughout the clinic. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

Certified Medical Assistant – Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Room patients and obtain/document vital signs, medical histories, and current medications
  • Perform patient triage and communicate patient concerns to the provider
  • Scribe patient encounters accurately within the electronic medical record
  • Assist the physician during examinations and in-office procedures
  • Administer injections and perform other clinical procedures within scope of practice
  • Prepare and stock exam rooms while maintaining cleanliness and infection control standards
  • Document patient visits accurately and maintain complete electronic medical records
  • Coordinate laboratory testing, referrals, and follow-up appointments as needed
  • Educate patients regarding medications, treatment plans, and provider instructions
  • Answer patient phone calls, relay messages, and assist with prescription refill requests
  • Support efficient patient flow while maintaining exceptional customer service
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations, clinic policies, and patient safety protocols

Certified Medical Assistant – Preferred Qualifications

  • Rheumatology experience is a plus but not required
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
  • Experience with injections, specimen collection, and patient education
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with providers and staff
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Professional, compassionate, and dependable with a positive attitude
