We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join a specialty
Urology practice. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a specialty medical setting, excellent patient-care skills, and proficiency with
Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
The CMA will work closely with urologists, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other clinical staff to provide high-quality patient care and ensure efficient clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
Room and prepare patients for urology visits, procedures, and examinations.
Obtain and document accurate patient histories, medication lists, vital signs, and other clinical information.
Assist providers with examinations and in-office procedures as directed.
Perform clinical tasks within the scope of CMA certification and applicable state regulations.
Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and assist with appropriate testing.
Administer medications and injections as ordered and permitted by clinical protocols.
Assist with catheter-related care and other urology-specific clinical needs as trained and authorized.
Provide patient education regarding medications, procedures, follow-up care, and provider instructions.
Coordinate patient follow-up appointments, referrals, testing, and procedures.
Respond to patient phone calls and portal messages and route clinical questions appropriately.
Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Epic EMR.
Review and update medication lists, allergies, medical histories, and health information.
Assist providers with prescription requests, prior authorizations, and other clinical administrative tasks.
Maintain examination rooms, supplies, and equipment according to practice standards.
Follow infection-control, patient-safety, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements.
Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, families, providers, and coworkers.
Support a fast-paced specialty clinic while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and excellent patient service.
Qualifications
Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from an accredited organization.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous medical assistant experience in a physician practice or specialty clinic preferred.
Urology experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency with Epic EMR.
Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain certification as required.
Knowledge of clinical terminology, medical procedures, and standard patient-care practices.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
