Join the team at Novant Health Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery in Asheville, where you'll play a key role supporting both the administrative and clinical operations of a busy specialty practice. This position is ideal for a Certified Medical Assistant who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is comfortable balancing patient-facing clerical responsibilities with hands-on clinical support.

In this role, you'll spend a significant portion of your day supporting front-office operations, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, coordinating patient communications, assisting with insurance authorizations, and ensuring a seamless patient experience. You'll also provide clinical support as needed, including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, preparing patients for visits and procedures, and performing phlebotomy.

What We're Looking For:

Education:  High School or GED, required.  Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.

Experience:  Previous work in a medical office, preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required

Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required

Additional Skills/Requirements (required):  Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
