    Novant Health Child & Adolescent Medical Group - Waxhaw is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)!

     

    Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, occasional Saturday coverage 8:00am-12:00pm

    What We're Looking For:
    • Education:
      • High School Diploma or GED, required.
      • Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement, required. 
    • Experience:
      • Previous work in a medical office, preferred. 
    • Licensure/Certification: 
      • Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required.
      • Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required. 
    • Additional Skills (required):
      • Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
    What You'll Do:

    Job responsibilities will include the following:

    • Serve as the point person for laboratory compliance, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, regulatory, and specimen-handling protocols while supporting blood collection and diagnostic testing procedures.
    • Room patients and prepare them for provider visits.
    • Measure and record vital signs accurately.
    • Administer vaccines following proper protocols.
    • Perform blood work, including finger sticks; venipuncture is preferred but not required.
    • Collaborate closely with the physician during patient care.
    • Assist the RN with managing tasks in the in-basket system.
