We're seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to teach a full-year Healthcare Sciences program at a charter school in Waco, TX. This flexible 1099 independent contractor opportunity allows you to earn supplemental income while making a lasting impact on students preparing for careers in healthcare.
No teaching certification is required. A comprehensive curriculum, lesson plans, and instructional resources are provided, allowing you to focus on mentoring students and sharing your real-world healthcare experience.

What You'll Do
- Deliver engaging classroom and hands-on instruction.
- Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications and entry-level healthcare careers.
- Utilize the provided curriculum while maintaining basic classroom documentation.
- Mentor students by sharing practical knowledge, professionalism, and real-world healthcare experience.
What You Bring
Ideal candidates have experience as:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
- Minimum of 3 years of recent Medical Assistant experience OR at least 1 year of Medical Assistant instructional experience.
- Active CMA, CCMA, RMA, NCMA, or equivalent nationally recognized certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Teaching, mentoring, coaching, precepting, or training experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to successfully complete FBI fingerprinting/background screening.
Location & Schedule

- Program: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Commitment: Full School Year (August 2026 May 2027)

- Flexible based on instructor availability
- Typical class length: 1.5 hours
- Most instructional commitments average approximately 3 hours per class session, including preparation and classroom responsibilities
Compensation & Flexibility
- $85$95 per instructional session (based on experience and certifications)
