Novant Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support our Palliative Care Team. The CMA will coordinate and assist the provider to ensure safe quality/cost effective service and care for the people within the practice population.
Conduct in-home patient visits (Travel to patient homes is required)
Take and document vital signs during visits
Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary treatment team
Provide coverage for team members’ PTO as needed
Support clinic or team needs when no patient appointments are scheduled
Mileage reimbursement provided
High School Diploma or GED – Required
Medical Assistant Certification – Required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
Candidates must provide proof of current certification from one of the following approved registries:
CMA – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
CCMA – National Health Career Association (NHA)
RMA – American Medical Technologists (AMT)
American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA)
National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
American Allied Health (AAH)
RMA – American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
If not currently certified, the candidate must:
Obtain certification or registration by the end of the 6th month of hire
Sign an education agreement
Previous medical office experience – Preferred
Refer to Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096
Current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire – Required
Life Support Training per NH-HR-3096 – Required
Current State Driver’s License – Required (Palliative Care roles only)
