Novellis Health is looking for a skilled, compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our Hematology/Oncology team. Our patients are often navigating some of the hardest moments of their lives, and our MAs are a steady, reassuring presence at nearly every visit.
Working under the direct supervision of our physicians and nurse practitioners, you'll keep clinic flow running smoothly: rooming patients, drawing labs, assisting with exams and procedures, and keeping communication clear between patients and the care team. If you're confident with venipuncture, thrive in a busy clinic, and want work that genuinely matters, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
Patient care and clinic flow
- Greet and escort patients between the waiting area, exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment areas
- Room patients and record vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes accurately in the electronic health record
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with exams and in-office procedures
- Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated by a provider
Phlebotomy and lab
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection with a high degree of skill, including on patients with fragile or difficult veins
- Label, handle, and process blood and lab specimens according to safety standards and chain-of-custody requirements
- Prepare specimens for in-house analysis or send-out to reference labs
Clinical environment and safety
- Prepare exam rooms and equipment before each visit and clean instruments after use
- Follow disinfection and infection-control protocols, which matter even more for immunocompromised oncology patients
Patient communication and administration
- Answer patient calls and route clinical questions to the right team member
- Process prescription refill requests and appointment changes
- Prepare charts and handle filing, faxing, scanning, and data entry
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program
- Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential

- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, or the ability to obtain it within 3 months of hire
- Close attention to detail and consistent adherence to safety and infection-control protocols
- Clear, warm communication with patients, families, and the care team
- Ability to stay organized and efficient in a fast-paced clinic
