Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant
Location: Neptune, NJ
Job Type: Contract

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent such as a GED.

  • AHA BLS certification.

  • One of the following certifications: CMA-NHA, CMA-NCCT, CMA-AAMA, RMA-AMT, RMA-NAHP, AMCA, or NCMA.

  • English proficiency: Read, Write, Speak.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare exam rooms, treatment rooms, supplies, and instruments.

  • Prepare patients for physician visits and examinations and assist as directed.

  • Take and record patient vital signs in the medical chart.

  • Perform EKG, PFT, Audiometry, and Titmus testing after completion of the required performance evaluation.

  • Perform UDS, BAT, phlebotomy, and other laboratory testing as indicated.

  • Obtain and record patient history and perform telephone and in-person screening.

  • Prepare patients for and assist with procedures, treatments, and minor office surgeries.

  • Perform medication reconciliation and screen and follow up on test results.

  • Maintain accurate patient records and organize and file medical records.

  • Schedule appointments, admissions, and procedures and enter patient demographic and financial information into electronic practice management systems.

  • Assist with collections and billing procedures as needed.

  • Communicate with licensed medical practitioners and provide information to patients as directed.

  • Perform inventory and routine maintenance of clinical and administrative equipment.

  • Provide patient education regarding health maintenance and disease prevention.

  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to applicable organizational standards.

  • Provide care appropriate to the needs of the patient population, including age, culture, language, and accessibility needs.
