We are seeking an energetic, dependable, and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team.
Position Summary The Medical Assistant is responsible for supporting providers with patient care, maintaining efficient clinic operations, and delivering an outstanding patient experience. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about helping patients through every step of their recovery.
Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
- Assist the provider during examinations, trigger point injections, PRP procedures, and other office-based treatments.
- Administer injections and medications as directed by the provider and within scope of practice.
- Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, and basic laboratory duties as needed.
- Prepare treatment rooms and maintain clinical supplies and equipment.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards.
- Accurately document patient information within the EMR system.
- Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate referrals.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and post-procedure instructions.
Communicate professionally with patients, attorneys, case managers, and referral sources.
- Assist with prior authorizations, prescription requests, and medical records when needed.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
- Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum one year of medical assisting experience preferred.
- Experience in pain management, orthopedics, personal injury, family medicine, or urgent care is a plus.
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred.Proficient with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology.
