    Key Responsibilities

    Clinical & Workflow Support

    • Collaborate closely with infusion and chemotherapy nurses to support daily clinic operations

    • Assist with patient flow to ensure timely and efficient delivery of infusion services

    • Serve as a clinical resource to help reduce bottlenecks and maintain smooth workflow in the infusion suite

    Order Entry & Documentation

    • Assist with accurate and timely entry of infusion-related orders as directed by providers and nursing staff

    • Ensure orders are complete, signed, and appropriately routed within the electronic medical record (EMR)

    • Communicate discrepancies, missing information, or concerns promptly to nursing staff and providers

    Patient Safety & Quality

    • Perform safety checks related to orders, patient identification, and documentation

    • Help ensure chemotherapy and infusion orders align with established protocols and safety standards

    • Monitor for potential issues that could impact patient safety and escalate concerns appropriately

    • Adhere strictly to infection control, OSHA, and chemotherapy safety guidelines

    Communication & Coordination

    • Act as a liaison between infusion nurses, providers, scheduling, and front-office staff

    • Support coordination of labs, treatment schedules, and follow-up needs as applicable

    • Maintain clear, professional communication with patients and staff

    Additional Duties

    • Assist with stocking and maintaining clinical areas and supplies as needed

    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and workflow optimization efforts

    • Perform other duties as assigned to support infusion services

    Required Qualifications

    • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) or equivalent experience

    • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program

    • Current CPR/BLS certification

    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety

    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Prior experience in oncology, infusion, or chemotherapy settings

    • Experience with EMR systems (Meditech, Epic, or similar)

    • Familiarity with medical order entry and clinical documentation

    • Knowledge of chemotherapy safety principles (training provided if needed)
