We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team working with the United States Coast Guard at Humboldt Bay. This role involves supporting physicians and healthcare professionals with administrative tasks to ensure smooth patient flow and high-quality service. Competitive wage based on experience.
Assist with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms
Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature
Prepare patients for examinations and procedures in outpatient, inpatient, or emergency settings
Support physicians with medication administration and basic life support when necessary
Document patient information accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and ICD coding
Support hospital medicine teams, including Level I and Level II trauma centers, PICU, or surgical units as needed
Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to safety protocols
Provide patient service by addressing questions and ensuring comfort during visits
A. A certificate or Associate degree as a CMA/MA from a state accredited program and 12 months experience with in the preceding 36 months, or,
B. Certification from a military medical assistant (i.e. Health Service Technician, Hospital Corpsman) ''A'' school and 12 months experience within the preceding 36 months, or,
C. 36 months experience within the preceding 60 months as a medical assistant in a private practice and completed the requirements for certification.
