Medical Assistant – In-Office Procedures

Position Summary

The Medical Assistant – In-Office Procedures supports providers and clinical staff in delivering safe, efficient patient care before, during, and after in-office procedures. This role assists with patient preparation, procedure room setup, sterile technique, documentation, and overall clinical support while ensuring a positive patient experience in a fast-paced orthopedic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for procedures, including rooming, obtaining vitals, and reviewing intake documentation
  • Assist providers and nursing staff during in-office procedures and injections
  • Set up and maintain sterile procedure rooms, instruments, and supplies
  • Support patient safety by following sterile technique and infection control guidelines
  • Document patient information accurately within the EMR system
  • Prepare patient charts and clinic schedules prior to appointments
  • Clean, sterilize, and restock procedure rooms and medical equipment
  • Maintain inventory and communicate supply or equipment needs to leadership
  • Respond to voicemails, patient tasks, and provider requests in a timely manner
  • Promote a positive and professional patient experience while maintaining HIPAA compliance
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or current LPN license required
  • Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • Knowledge of sterile technique, infection control, and clinical safety standards preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Experience with EMR systems and computer applications preferred

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Clinical environment with potential exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist patients throughout the day
  • May require occasional travel between clinic locations
  • Ability to lift and assist patients as needed
