JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Medical Assistant, Certified in our Central Carolina Foot and Ankle clinic located in Durham, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team to provide direct and indirect care to patients.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Take accurate medical histories and records vital signs, explains treatment procedures, and prepares patients for examinations and procedures
Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, perform basic lab test in clinic/office, keep exam rooms stocked, other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by physician
Disposing contaminated supplies, instrument processing, high level disinfection and sterilization of medical instruments
Administrative duties to include returning phone calls to patients, faxing referrals, scheduling appointments, update medical records, ordering clinical supplies, maintain clinical related logs, other administrative duties as directed
Participates in clinic activities such as Joint Commission and/or participate in clinic committees
Maintain compliance with annual trainings
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Level I & II -- Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
High school or GED graduation required.
Level I -- No experience required.
Level II -- 1 year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified in a clinical setting.
Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required.
BLS required.
