    Position Purpose

    Mercy Care Atlanta is seeking a compassionate and experienced Team Lead Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to provide direct patient care while leading and supporting our Medical Assistant team. In this role, you will serve as both a hands-on clinical team member and an operational leader, helping to ensure exceptional patient experiences, efficient clinic workflows, and high-quality clinical outcomes. Working closely with providers, the Clinic Manager, Charge Nurse, and interdisciplinary care teams, you will mentor staff, promote accountability, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

    What You Will Do

    • Provide direct patient care including obtaining vital signs, documenting patient histories, preparing patients for exams, and assisting providers during procedures.

    • Administer medications, vaccines, injections, perform EKGs, specimen collection, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing.

    • Ensure adherence to infection prevention, OSHA, CLIA, HIPAA, and clinical quality standards.

    • Coordinate daily Medical Assistant workflows and support clinic operations.

    • Collaborate with the Clinic Manager and Charge Nurse to assign responsibilities and optimize staffing coverage.

    • Serve as a clinical resource, mentor, and subject matter expert for Medical Assistants.

    • Facilitate onboarding, training, coaching, and annual competency validations for CMA staff.

    • Monitor and maintain inventory of medical supplies, equipment, and vaccines.

    • Support providers by managing patient communications, scheduling needs, and electronic health record documentation.

    • Identify operational challenges and participate in process improvement initiatives that enhance patient care and clinic efficiency.

    • Promote teamwork, professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and compassionate service in every patient interaction.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • High School Diploma required; graduate of a medical technical program preferred.

    • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required.

    • Current CPR certification required.

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of Certified Medical Assistant experience.

    • At least 1-2 years in an advanced CMA role or demonstrated leadership experience.

    • Experience performing all clinical and administrative CMA responsibilities independently.

    • Knowledge of OSHA and CLIA regulations.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic medical records; Epic experience preferred.

    • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
