Job Description
Role: Certified Medical Assistant
Core Duties:
· Perform clinical support duties including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and documenting medical history.
· Assist providers with examinations, minor procedures, and patient care tasks.
· Administer medications and injections as permitted by state regulations.
· Perform EKGs, specimen collection, point‑of‑care testing, and basic lab procedures.
· Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and maintain exam room cleanliness.
· Prepare and stock clinical areas with supplies following infection‑control guidelines.
· Document accurately in EMR systems following VA and facility standards.
· Provide patient education and discharge instructions as directed by licensed staff.

· Minimum Experience
· At least 1 year recent experience in a clinical setting within the last 6 months.
Licenses & Credentials
· Education: Certificate required. Candidate must be a graduate of a medical assistant training program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES, or a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces. No equivalency determination may be used in place of the education requirement.
· Experience requirement: One year of experience within the last two years as a Certified Medical Assistant.
· Certification requirement: Current Medical Assistant certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or current registration through American Medical Technologists (AMT), or another formal recognized program.
· Basic Life Support (BLS) in the base contract requirements.
