Job Summary
Newma Wellness is seeking an experienced, compassionate Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C or FNP-BC) to join our primary care team on a part-time basis. This provider will work primarily caring for adult patients, with some pediatrics, in an outpatient setting.


The Family Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive, patient-centered primary care, including preventive health services, acute illness evaluation and treatment, chronic disease management, medication management, diagnostic testing, and specialist referrals.


The ideal candidate has strong adult primary care experience, excellent clinical judgment, timely and thorough documentation practices, and a warm, collaborative communication style. This individual must be comfortable practicing independently within their education, training, experience, and scope while working closely with Newma’s clinical and administrative teams.


Responsibilities 
  • Provide comprehensive primary care to adult and older pediatric patients
  • Perform health assessments, physical examinations, preventive screenings, and routine wellness visits
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and minor injuries
  • Manage common chronic conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, thyroid disorders, hyperlipidemia, and other ongoing health concerns
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic evaluations
  • Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with the provider’s scope of practice and prescriptive authority
  • Educate patients regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment options, preventive care, and healthy lifestyle practices
  • Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients
  • Refer patients to specialists and coordinate follow-up care as appropriate
  • Review and respond to laboratory results, refill requests, referrals, prior authorizations, and patient messages in a timely manner
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation in the electronic health record
  • Follow Newma Wellness policies, clinical protocols, documentation standards, and established chains of communication
  • Collaborate respectfully with other providers, clinical support staff, lactation professionals, administrative staff, and community specialists
  • Protect patient confidentiality and maintain the highest standards of professionalism
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years primary care experience as a practicing Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Current, unrestricted Colorado Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licenses
  • Current national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner through an approved certifying organization
  • Current Colorado prescriptive authority appropriate to the position
  • Current DEA registration
  • Strong knowledge of preventive care, diagnostic standards, medication management, and chronic disease management
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered care
