    Description

    A 600+ bed acute care regional referral center in Savannah is seeking a Certified CVOR Surgical Technologist to join its cardiovascular operating room team. This major medical facility serves 35 counties across southeast Georgia and southern South Carolina and is home to the region’s only Level I Trauma Center and children’s hospital.

    This role supports the cardiovascular surgical team by working under the direct supervision of the circulating RN to assist surgeons throughout operative procedures. The CVOR Surgical Technologist plays a critical role in ensuring the operating room is properly prepared, equipped, and maintained for safe and efficient cardiovascular surgeries.

    Key responsibilities include setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies; preparing and turning over operating rooms between procedures; and ensuring all instruments are cleaned and processed for sterilization. The technologist also assists with patient positioning and transport, and participates in surgical counts with the circulating nurse prior to incision and before closure to support patient safety and surgical accuracy.

    Qualifications:

    • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program required

    • Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required

    • Minimum of 1–2 years of CVOR experience required

    • Operating Room experience required

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA or American Red Cross)

    • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire

    Schedule:

    • Full-time

    • Day shift

    • 10- or 12-hour rotating shifts starting at 6:30 a.m.

    • Rotating weekends required

    • On-call coverage as scheduled
