Position Details

Job Title: Central Supply Technician II - Full-Time, Day Shift

Department: Materials Management - Sterilization

Work Location: White Plains, NY

Shift: Day Shift

Schedule: Monday-Friday, with occasional weekends (8 AM- 4 PM or 9 AM- 5 PM)

Pay Rate: $28-$36 per hour

Job Summary

The Central Supply Technician II is responsible for cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, packaging, and sterilizing medical and surgical instruments and equipment. The role also involves maintaining sterilization equipment, managing medical supply inventory, distributing supplies, and following hospital infection control and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, disinfect, process, and sterilize medical and surgical instruments.
• Operate and inspect sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, washer-disinfectors, cart washers, heat sealers, and related equipment.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and defects.
• Assemble, wrap, package, label, and prepare instruments for sterilization.
• Select appropriate sterilization methods and document sterilization loads and biological testing results.
• Store and handle sterile supplies and equipment properly.
• Receive, stock, rotate, track, and distribute medical and surgical supplies.
• Monitor supply usage and report shortages or equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow infection control standards and hospital policies.
• Transport patients to and from the Operating Room and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit as required.
• Complete required training, competency assessments, and annual continuing education requirements.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) certification, or qualifying grandfathered status under the facility''s requirements.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
