General Summary
Inspects, operates, maintains, tests and repairs boilers, cooling towers and associated control and distribution equipment. Performs maintenance and repair on Central Energy Plant associated equipment to include, medical air and vacuum, electric and diesel air compressors, diesel and natural gas fuel systems, water softeners, pumps, motors, chillers, boilers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs operations and maintenance on rotating machinery in accordance with applicable manufactures recommendations, local, state and federal regulations.
Observes and interprets reading on gauges and meters which register various aspects of the Central Energy Plant to include boilers and chillers operations.
Adjusting controls to ensure safe and efficient operations of the plant meet the demands for utilities.
Must be knowledgeable of required actions in the event of loss of any of the regularly supplied services.
Knowledgeable of water treatment for boilers and cooling towers. Able to analyze the water for such things as acidity, conductivity, hardness, and alkalinity.
Maintains the general cleanliness and appearance of the work areas including the Central Energy Plants.
Assists others as part of the maintenance team to perform other duties assigned according to personal qualifications.
Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements
Skilled in interpretation of equipment specification and blueprints.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Possess a broad knowledge of facility operations and maintenance
Experience with a Facility Computerized Maintenance Management System software.
Work Environment
Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions.
Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, ect., but not to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards where likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.
Must be able to pass a local background check and have the ability to otain and maintain NAC/LAC clearance after hire.
