Description

The Centerless Grinding Department Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the centerless grinding department. This role involves supervising a team of mechanics, ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining quality standards, and optimizing workflow. The Department Lead will work closely with other departments to meet production goals and ensure the highest standards of safety and quality.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervision and Leadership
  • Lead, train, and mentor a team of centerless grinding technicians and operators.
  • Allocate resources effectively.
  • Have input in performance evaluations and provide feedback to the CG Manager.
  • Support the centerless grinding operations to ensure production targets are met.
  • Coordinate with production planning to ensure timely completion of orders.
  • Monitor and adjust machine settings to optimize performance and achieve desired tolerances.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in machining or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in centerless grinding operations, with a strong understanding of grinding machines and techniques.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards related to machining operations.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
