Position Overview:
The Center for the Arts is seeking candidates for Student Employment.
Responsibilities:
Open up and Lock up the facility and systems for events at Kendall Hall''s 2 performance venues
Turn on, operate, and trouble shoot technical systems used to support events: IE Lighting and sound reinforcement. Turn off and secure at end of events.
Help set up and build elements used on Kendall''s Stages for performances.
Help Maintain systems and areas connected to the center for the arts.
Supervise - student life, rental and departmental use of Kendall''s performance venues for both performances and rehearsals.
Help strike and reset the performance venues for various events
Learning Objectives:
Gain knowledge of campus resources.
Provide quality customer service.
Gain an understanding of professionalism and confidence working in a fast paced academic environment.
Learn the various systems and techniques used in the support of live performances and events.
Introduction and Familiarity with Systems used to support the performing Arts
Operations of performing arts facilities
Develop Team building and leading skills
Preferred Qualifications:
An interest in the various disciplines and technologies used in the performing arts (i.e.: lighting, sound, carpentry, and scenic art.)
This should be complimented by excellent communication and interpersonal skills, patience, eagerness to learn, creativity, flexibility, and a professional attitude towards work.
Some experience of the performing Arts both on and off stage.
