Description

  • Job Title: Cement Technician
  • Schedule: Full-Time (Shift work as required)
  • Pay Range: $22.00 – $30.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)

About the Role

Join Amrize as a Cement Technician and help construct what's next. The Cement Technician is a multi-skilled position responsible for the hands-on operation and industrial maintenance of the cement plant facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Practice and promote safety by assessing risks before starting tasks, performing only authorized activities, and properly utilizing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Perform walk-by inspections and detailed checklists on operating plant machinery.

  • Perform industrial maintenance activities, including repairs, installations, and component replacements across a wide variety of plant equipment (rigging, cutting, welding, fitting, lubrication, alignments, basic low-voltage electrical repairs, hydraulics, and pneumatics).

  • Operate light and medium-sized plant mobile equipment and handle facility housekeeping.

  • Troubleshoot and optimize equipment during active operation and mechanical breakdowns.

  • Maintain operational documentation, plan and organize daily work, and participate in cross-functional team activities.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Work Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience working in a heavy manufacturing environment.

  • Mechanical Aptitude: High mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems.

  • Teamwork: Strong ability to collaborate effectively in a team-based environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in industrial maintenance or mechanical maintenance.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • Required to work outdoors, at elevated heights, in warm temperatures, near or over water, in dusty environments, and within confined spaces.

  • Ability to work flexible shifts as operationally required.

  • Candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators.

  • Employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal contacts the face in order to pass qualitative and quantitative fit testing standards.
