CEM/INE Fall 2026 Student Assistant

The Student Assistant supports the daily operations and mission of the department while gaining valuable professional experience in a higher education environment. Working alongside faculty and staff, the Student Assistant contributes to a variety of projects and activities that may include administrative support, customer service, event assistance, data entry, research, and other departmental initiatives.
This position provides students with the opportunity to develop transferable skills such as communication, organization, teamwork, problem-solving, and professionalism while balancing academic and work responsibilities. Successful candidates will demonstrate reliability, initiative, and a willingness to learn while contributing positively to the department and campus community.
Successful Student Assistants are dependable, eager to learn, and bring a positive attitude to their work each day. The ideal candidate is organized, communicates effectively, and demonstrates professionalism when interacting with students, faculty, staff, and members of the community.
Thriving in this role requires the ability to balance academic responsibilities with work commitments, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities and assignments. Successful candidates are willing to ask questions, take initiative, and work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Minimum Qualifications:
Enrolled as a UA student in a minimum of 6 credits with a minimum GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Position Details:
This position is located on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks Alaska. This is a pooled position, and applications are reviewed as needed. Submission of an application does not guarantee review or a job offer.
