Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Chief Deputy Executive Director, the Deputy Director of Administration is the principal administrative staff of the newly established California Privacy Protection Agency. The Deputy Director of Administration is responsible for working with the Agency's Chief Deputy Executive Director to develop all of the administrative and operational policies and functions of the new agency. The Deputy Director of Administration is responsible for Planning, overseeing, and directing activities of CPPA's goals, objectives, and policies, that impact, business services, personnel management, and program operations management. Provides oversight and direction of managers in the Fiscal Services, Business Operations Office and Human Resources Office.

Working Conditions

The California Privacy Protection Agency (CalPrivacy)'s mission is to protect Californians' consumer privacy. CalPrivacy implements and enforces the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Its responsibilities include: 1) rulemaking in a highly complicated, technical, sometimes contested, and nuanced area; 2) supporting awareness across California's diverse population on issues related to privacy and data security, including the new rights provided to them by the law; and 3) administrative enforcement of those rights.

Special Requirements

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

Examination Information
