Description

The CDN Platform Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and operational reliability of enterprise Content Delivery Network (CDN) platforms supporting large-scale, customer-facing digital applications. This role drives secure and highly available content delivery by managing CDN configurations, caching strategies, traffic routing, and edge security controls across distributed environments.

This is a hybrid role; remote candidates will be considered with one day per week onsite.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the technical SME and owner for enterprise CDN technologies, partnering with application, network, and security teams.
Lead global CDN migrations and drive the transformation to a modern, automated Multi-CDN ecosystem.
Build self-service CDN capabilities through an internal developer portal.
Lead technical RCA for critical production incidents, participate in on-call support, and develop automated remediation solutions.
Establish CDN-specific SLOs/SLAs, monitoring, alerting, and proactive incident prevention.
Automate CDN provisioning, configuration, and policy management using infrastructure-as-code and GitOps practices.
Evaluate emerging CDN technologies and performance optimization strategies.
Develop technical documentation, playbooks, and training materials, and mentor engineering teams.
Required Qualifications

5+ years of enterprise CDN experience with platforms such as Akamai, Cloudflare, Fastly, or Google Cloud CDN.
Strong knowledge of DNS, GTM, CNAME chaining, HTTP/2, HTTP/3, TLS/SSL, caching, and edge computing.
Hands-on experience configuring and managing CDN platforms, properties, landing zones, origin mappings, WAF, and Bot Management.
Strong automation experience using Terraform and Ansible.
Experience building API-driven self-service capabilities and plugins using Backstage.
Development experience with React and backend APIs using Python (FastAPI/Flask) or Java.
Experience with GitOps, Tekton, and GitHub Actions.
Experience with Apigee, OpenAPI, and 42Crunch.
Monitoring and observability experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, and telemetry pipelines.
SaaS experience.
Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications


 

Qualifications


 Hands-on experience with GCP, including Cloud Run, Transcoder API, and GKE/OpenShift.
Experience implementing CDN solutions for Adobe Experience Manager (AEM/AEMaaCS).
Content management experience.
