Qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
Clean and acceptable driving record.
Previous water truck, dump truck, or heavy truck experience preferred.
Construction experience preferred.
At least 2yrs of experience fueling and oiling heavy equipment.
Familiarity with DOT regulations.
Drives truck to transport water for construction projects and to apply water for compaction and/or dust control on the construction site.
Perform daily safety checks of fluid levels on oil, water, fuel and inspections for leaks and damage to vehicle before operation.
Responsible for daily maintenance of vehicle to remain in proper and safe working order.
Responsible for notifying supervisor if vehicle needs to be repaired.
Perform incidental work items and duties included within other crafts.
Understands safety and occupational hazards of work.
Satisfactory driving record.
Responsibilities
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Ability to exert heavy physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb or crawl.
- Ability to correctly rig and hoist material.
- Ability to tolerate heights without fear.
- Ability to maintain balance.
- Able to enter the cab of a vehicle or piece of equipment that is 3 feet or more off the ground.
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time, reach for, handle, and manipulate items and to work in extreme weather conditions (cold and wet).
- Able to work long, irregular and varied hours, six to seven day per week, 50 to 70 hours per week.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Ability to safely and effectively perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal , state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

This efficient communication and access to management is key to Barnard’s people and to our culture. In fact, our entire Executive Management meets monthly with our Department Heads to connect and keep everyone involved in the big picture as well as the individual projects and bids that we have in the works.
We also stand out among our competitors in our practice of pairing a Field Supervisor with a Project Engineer to form a “team” that is strong in office and field skills. This eliminates the problem of not knowing who to ask for a material order or not understanding if the schedule is being met. It creates a culture of accountability. Our Superintendents and Project Managers are paired as well. This splits responsibilities while also having a peer with whom to consider options and problem-solve.
As a job winds down, key project staff members are cycled back to the Home Office to estimate upcoming work. When the work is awarded, that bid team mobilizes to the project and performs the work. The knowledge that is gained from being involved in a project from the estimate to project completion is invaluable.
