CDL Class A Driver Job Responsibilities
As a CDL Class A Driver, you will safely transport automotive parts between our Portland distribution center and regional hub locations including Pasco, WA, Medford, OR, and Pacific, WA. Routes generally run 8-10 hours per day, allowing you to return home after every shift.
Responsibilities include:
Safely operate tractor-trailers in compliance with all FMCSA and DOT regulations
Transport automotive parts efficiently and on schedule
Load and unload freight as needed
Utilize GPS and route management systems to optimize deliveries
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Maintain accurate logs and transportation records
Communicate professionally with dispatchers and customers
Report maintenance concerns, safety issues, or delivery exceptions promptly
Ensure cargo is secured and transported safely at all times

CDL Class A Driver Qualifications
Valid CDL Class A license
Clean driving record
Previous commercial driving experience
Experience operating manual transmission vehicles
Ability to safely load, unload, and transport freight
Working knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to drive safely in adverse weather and winter conditions
Ability to drive overnight or evening routes as assigned
Ability to regularly lift and move items weighing up to 75 pounds
Ability to bend, reach, twist, and handle automotive parts safely
Corporate requirements: Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver's license and clean driving record, able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
