CDL Dump Truck Driver

The Dump Truck Driver is responsible for using a tractor trailer combination to safely and efficiently transport aggregate and raw materials to customer locations in rural and urban areas in all weather conditions. • Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Summary:

  
The Dump Truck Driver is responsible for using a tractor trailer combination to safely and efficiently transport aggregate and raw materials to customer locations in rural and urban areas in all weather conditions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 
• Thorough DOT Pre and Post trip inspections which include raising and lowering of the truck hood
• Follow directions on Delivery Ticket to ensure product is accurately delivered
• Follow safety procedures for delivering, loading, and unloading material at various sites
• Effectively communicate with Customers and Dispatch in a professional manner
• Keep vehicle and equipment in a clean condition
• Perform other work as assigned by management

• This job may require additional duties not listed above and the employee may be asked to perform those duties to meet business needs

Qualifications:

 
Education/Specialized Knowledge/Professional Certifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• CDL Class A without a manual transmission restriction required
• Safe, clean driving record required

 
Experience:

 

• One year minimum tractor/trailer experience preferred
• Tractor/trailer dump experience highly recommended

 

Skills/Abilities:

 

• Dependable, well organized, safety minded, and have efficient work habits
• Positive attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction

 

Working Conditions: 

 

• In an enclosed vehicle subject to whole body vibration and sedentary position
• Outdoors, exposed to weather and uneven ground conditions
• Extremely bright or inadequate lighting
• Subject to a moderate exposure to noise from ready-mix plant, other highway noise, and jobsite equipment

 

Physical Requirements:

 
• Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
• Climb in and out of truck and climbs up and down a ladder several times a day; Other movements may require balance, kneeling, crawling, crouching or walking
• Responsible for Personal Protective Equipment such as hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, and gloves once issued
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Operate buttons, levers, and other controls located on various equipment
• Work through stressful situations while maintaining professionalism and composure
• Must be able to sit and drive for extended periods of time
• Must be able to work long and flexible hours as necessary
• Must be able to maneuver in and around our plants, yards and jobsites as necessary
• Lift/carry up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Push/pull up to 50 pounds occasionally
