Duncan Family Farms is looking for a reliable, safety-focused CDL Driver to join our Post Harvest & Logistics team.
This is a dual-purpose driving position. The driver will be expected to perform both Local CDL Hauler and Class A CDL OTR driving duties based on harvest schedules, customer orders, weather conditions, product availability, and operational needs.
Our drivers play an essential role in keeping freshly harvested agricultural products moving safely, efficiently, and on time.
Important Schedule Information
This position does not have a set daily schedule. Start and end times may vary and can change from day to day based on weather conditions, harvest conditions, customer orders, product availability, and operational needs.
The driver must be flexible and available to work varying start and end times, including different schedules from one day to the next.
Because our agricultural operation is driven by harvest and customer demand, the ability to adapt to changing schedules is an important part of this position.
Local & OTR Driving Responsibilities
This position will perform both local and on-the-road driving assignments.
Local Driving
When assigned local routes, the driver will primarily:
- Transport harvested agricultural products from Maricopa, AZ to Goodyear, AZ
- Transport product between other local Duncan Family Farms locations as needed
- Complete local deliveries and transfers safely and efficiently
- Return home daily for local assignments
OTR Driving
When assigned OTR routes, the driver will transport harvested agricultural products from:
Goodyear, AZ Salinas, CA or Yuma, AZ
OTR assignments may include:
- Longer-distance driving
- Extended travel
- Overnight trips when operationally required
- Variable departure and return times
- Changing routes and assignments based on harvest and customer needs
Drivers should be prepared to perform both local and OTR assignments as directed by the Post Harvest & Logistics team.
What You'll Do
As a Duncan Family Farms CDL Driver, you will:
- Safely operate commercial vehicles in accordance with DOT, FMCSA, traffic laws, and company requirements.
- Perform both local and OTR driving assignments as operational needs require.
- Transport harvested agricultural products safely and on schedule.
- Load, unload, handle, and properly secure products.
- Protect product quality and integrity throughout transportation.
- Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Maintain accurate driving logs, trip reports, delivery records, and other required documentation.
- Use an electronic logging device (ELD) and applicable company systems.
- Verify load and delivery information.
- Communicate with supervisors regarding delays, delivery issues, vehicle concerns, or changes in route.
- Report accidents, incidents, vehicle damage, safety concerns, or product issues promptly.
- Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of assigned trucks and equipment.
- Work with the Equipment Maintenance/Shop team regarding maintenance and repairs.
- Assist with post-harvest, yard, or other operational duties when driving assignments are not scheduled.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a driver who is dependable, safety-minded, flexible, and comfortable with both local and OTR driving.
Required
- Valid Class A CDL required for this position
- Previous commercial driving experience
- Ability to meet applicable DOT requirements
- Ability to maintain required licenses and certifications in good standing
- Strong attendance and reliability
- Ability to work a variable schedule and adjust start/end times based on operational needs
- Willingness and ability to perform both local and OTR driving assignments
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to accurately complete required transportation documentation
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers
- Must be at least 18 years old
Preferred
- Agricultural or fresh produce transportation experience
- Refrigerated transportation experience
- Experience with load securement
- ELD experience
- Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and commercial vehicle inspections

Physical & Work Environment
This position requires the ability to:
- Sit and drive for extended periods.
- Frequently enter and exit a truck cab.
- Squat, crouch, reach, push, and pull as needed.
- Inspect vehicles, trailers, and loads.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and load securement.
- Occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Remain alert and attentive while driving.
- Meet applicable DOT physical and medical requirements.
Schedule & Travel
This position does not have a fixed daily schedule. Start and end times may change based on weather, harvest conditions, customer orders, product availability, and operational needs.
The driver must be comfortable with variable start and end times and changing work schedules.
The position includes both:
- Local assignments: Primarily Maricopa Goodyear, with local assignments generally allowing the driver to return home daily.
- OTR assignments: Goodyear Salinas or Yuma, which may require extended travel and overnight stays.
