    Description

    Apex Underground is seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Driver (Class A) to support our field operations. This role is essential in transporting equipment and materials to and from job sites efficiently and safely. As a CDL Driver, you’ll be responsible for the secure loading, hauling, and unloading of construction materials using a variety of commercial vehicles. Your attention to safety, communication skills, and reliability will directly support the success of our projects and teams in the field. 

    Your Regular Responsibilities 
      Operate Commercial Vehicles: Safely drive and operate vehicles such as tandem trailers, dump trucks, flatbeds, and cement trucks to and from job sites. 
     Transport Materials & Equipment: Load, haul, and unload loose materials (e.g., gravel, sand, crushed rock) and equipment while ensuring secure and authorized placement. 
     Perform Inspections: Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting findings and addressing any issues in line with company policies. 
     Site Support: Assist with light labor tasks at job sites when needed, ensuring efficiency and flexibility in operations. 
     Follow Safety Regulations: Adhere to all DOT, OSHA, and company-specific safety policies at all times. 
     Maintain Communication: Coordinate closely with field supervisors and dispatch to confirm timing and location details for each delivery. 
     Report & Maintain Equipment: Report any mechanical issues immediately and maintain vehicle cleanliness and condition. 
     Adapt to Conditions: Operate safely in all weather conditions and on variable terrain. 
    Your Team for Collaboration & Support 
    You will report directly to the Dispatcher. You’ll collaborate with foreman, crew leads, project managers, and field personnel to ensure that materials and equipment are delivered promptly and safely. 
     
    Expectations & Outcomes of Your Work 
     Timely Deliveries: Ensure materials and equipment arrive at the right place, at the right time, without delays. 
     Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean safety record by following all transportation and site safety rules. 
     Equipment Responsibility: Keep vehicles well-maintained and proactively communicate any service needs. 
     Team Reliability: Support project flow by being dependable, responsive, and cooperative with field teams. 
     
    Technical Requirements 
    Minimum 3 years of CDL driving experience preferred 
    Valid and current Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) 
    Valid medical examiner’s certificate 
    Working knowledge of DOT rules, road safety laws, and construction site logistics 
    Ability to pass and maintain a clean drug screen 
    Clean driving record 
    Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds 
    Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions 
    High school diploma or equivalent preferred ​
