Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate trucks weighing over 26,000 lbs., including tankers, roll-offs, and vans.
- Transport and deliver waste materials and general freight.
- Complete pre-trip and required vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate DOT hours-of-service logs and load documentation.
- Secure cargo properly for transportation.
- Read and interpret bills of lading, manifests, and other shipping documents.
- Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams.
- Obtain required delivery receipts and signatures.
- Report accidents, vehicle defects, traffic violations, or damage according to company policy.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the truck, equipment, and PPE.
Bonuses
- $1,500 Signing Bonus:
- $100 after 30 days
- $700 after 9 months
- $700 after 1 year
- Paid hourly, with drivers averaging 50–55 hours per week
- Overtime paid at 1.5x after 40 hours
- $50 additional compensation for each overnight run
- $20/hour additional pay while performing vacuum tanker work (typically 1–4 hours per job)
- Quarterly incentive bonus of $200–$400 based on:
- Idle time
- Fuel efficiency
- Safe driving performance
- Annual pay increases based on positive performance reviews
- Win Together Profit Sharing Program, paid annually in February and based on company operating profit
Schedule & Travel
- Monday–Friday schedule
- Typically 2–3 overnight runs per week
- Shorter trips generally involve leaving and returning to Grafton the same day
- Longer trips may require 2–3 days away from the Grafton facility
- Drivers leave Grafton with an empty trailer, load at the customer location, and return to Grafton with the loaded trailer
- No routine hotel stays; drivers are provided with sleeper-cab tractors for overnight travel
Qualifications
- 2+ years of current over-the-road tanker experience, including liquid tanker experience.
- Valid Class A CDL - Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement PREFERRED
- Compliant Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) driving history.
- Ability to qualify for a DOT physical card and comply with DOT substance-abuse testing requirements.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to work 14-hour shifts, including additional hours and weekends as needed.
- Ability to travel overnight.
- Ability to safely use required PPE, including respiratory and chemical protective equipment.
- Ability to read and understand safety procedures, operating instructions, and related documentation.
