Shift:Monday–Friday | 10–12 Hour Workdays
Additional Schedule:Some Saturdays as Needed

Position Overview

Stand-By Personnel is seeking professional CDL Class A or Class B Drivers to deliver storage containers to residential and commercial customers. This is a local driving position offering consistent hours with drivers home every night.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and customer-service oriented. Because drivers interact directly with customers at delivery sites, professionalism, communication, and the ability to make safe decisions regarding container placement are essential.




Required Experience & Skills

• Valid CDL Class A or Class B license required
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• Must meet FMCSA Clearinghouse requirements
• No preventable accidents
• Strong commitment to DOT and company safety requirements
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to professionally handle and diffuse customer concerns
• Detail-oriented and safety-minded approach to deliveries
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus




Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles and delivery equipment
• Deliver storage containers to residential and commercial customer locations
• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Properly secure containers and loads before transport
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safety procedures
• Assess customer properties and delivery sites for safe container placement
• Complete required delivery paperwork and documentation accurately
• Communicate professionally with customers throughout the delivery process
• Resolve delivery challenges safely and professionally
• Work independently or as part of a two-driver team with shared driving responsibilities




Training & Probation

• Complete 1–2 weeks of specialized driver training
• Complete a 90-day probationary period
• Performance will be evaluated based on safety, attendance, professionalism, customer service, reliability, and overall job performance
• Pay within the $23.00–$25.00/hour range will be determined by experience, qualifications, and performance
• Additional growth opportunities may be available for high-performing drivers




Facility & Delivery Process

• Storage containers are staged outside the warehouse and prepared for pickup
• A forklift operator loads each container onto the truck
• Drivers properly secure the load before departure
• Drivers transport and place containers at customer locations
• Drivers are not required to enter the warehouse
• Facility tour is provided during onboarding




Customer Service Expectations

Drivers must be comfortable evaluating delivery sites and explaining when a requested container placement cannot be completed safely. Potential challenges may include:

• Steep hills or grades
• Soft or unstable ground
• Tight access points
• Overhead obstacles
• Limited maneuvering space
• Other site-specific safety concerns

When a requested placement cannot be safely completed, drivers are expected to clearly explain the concern and recommend a safe alternative whenever possible.




Dress Code

• Polo shirt
• Nice shorts or appropriate work pants
• Tennis shoes or appropriate work footwear
• Work gloves provided




Physical Requirements

• Ability to safely climb in and out of commercial vehicles throughout the workday
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and load-securement activities
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to work 10–12 hour days and occasional Saturdays as customer demand requires
• Ability to safely perform physically active delivery duties throughout the shift




Work Environment

• Local residential and commercial delivery routes
• Outdoor work at customer properties and delivery sites
• Frequent direct interaction with customers
• Safety-focused environment emphasizing DOT compliance, professionalism, and responsible equipment operation
• Local routes with drivers home every night
