Join a semi-local CDL-A driving opportunity hauling dimensional pressure-treated lumber across Washington and Oregon. This heavy-haul lumber account offers a consistent weekday schedule, assigned day cab equipment, and hotel accommodations for overnight layovers.
Pay Details
$85,000.00 per year
- Average Weekly Pay: $1,635
- Earn $0.01 CPM increases annually until reaching the maximum pay rate of $0.49 CPM
- Receive $75 layover pay for each overnight layover
- Hotel accommodations provided during overnight layovers
- Doubles endorsement costs reimbursed by the account
Job Details
- Semi-local driving position serving Washington and Oregon
- Haul dimensional pressure-treated lumber from manufacturers to retail locations, including Lowe's and various lumber yards
- Operate tandem flatbed trailers
- Heavy-haul freight with loads up to 105,500 GVW
- The first load is typically preloaded the night before, while subsequent loads are live loaded as scheduled
- Drivers are responsible for strapping and properly securing all loads
- No tarping required
- Operate new 40'/24' trailer combination sets with a turntable
- Minimal trailer uncoupling required
- Assigned day cab trucks
- Trucks must remain at the account during time off
- Drivers may assist other DCS/JBI accounts approximately 3 days per week
Shift Details
- Monday–Friday schedule
- Typically off on Saturday and Sunday
- Opportunity to work a 6th day if desired
- Morning start times generally between 3:00 AM and 6:00 AM
- Average 12-hour workdays
- Drivers are typically out 1–2 nights per week, depending on delivery routes
- Hotel accommodations provided for overnight stays
- $75 layover pay for each overnight stay
Job Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- No SAP Drivers
- Must obtain a Doubles endorsement within 1 week of hire
- Account reimburses the cost of obtaining the Doubles endorsement
- Comfortable operating flatbed and heavy-haul equipment
- Ability to safely strap and secure all loads
- Willingness to chain during snowy conditions when required
- Must meet all DOT, company, and account-specific requirements
- Safe driving record required
