Cornerstone Driver Solutions is recruiting experienced CDL-A Company Drivers for a local intermodal opportunity in the Austell / Atlanta West, Georgia area.

This position is designed for drivers who want daily home time, consistent freight, competitive earnings, and a local operating area. Drivers will transport intermodal containers between rail facilities, customer locations, distribution centers, and other assigned locations throughout the Atlanta West market.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a CDL-A Local Intermodal Driver, you will safely transport intermodal containers between rail facilities, customer locations, distribution centers, terminals, and other assigned destinations.

The position operates primarily throughout the Austell / Atlanta West market, providing drivers with a local operation and home-daily schedule.

This is a Company Driver position. Owner Operators, teams, and trainees are not accepted for this opportunity.

HOME TIME & SCHEDULE

Home Daily

Drivers return home each day after completing their assigned work.

Schedule and start times may vary based on the carrier's operational needs. Day, night, and weekend work may be available or assigned depending on the account.

PAY & COMPENSATION

Approximately $1,443 Average Weekly Earnings

Approximately $75,038 Average Annual Earnings

The compensation structure includes:

  • Hourly pay
  • $0.33 CPM
  • Additional compensation may apply for qualifying night and weekend work

Weekly and annual earnings are average account earnings and are not guaranteed. Actual compensation may vary based on hours worked, miles, freight volume, schedule, and other account-specific factors.

OPERATING AREA

The position operates primarily throughout the Atlanta West / Austell market.

Routes may extend up to approximately 250 miles per day, depending on assigned freight and operational requirements.

Important: The approximately 250-mile operating area is not the driver hiring radius.

Hiring Area

Drivers must live within approximately 35 miles of ZIP code 30339.

Candidates outside the required hiring area may not qualify for this specific account.

FREIGHT & EQUIPMENT

Drivers will transport intermodal containers on chassis.

This is a no-touch freight position, meaning drivers are not responsible for physically loading or unloading the freight inside the containers.

Typical operations may include:

  • Intermodal container transportation
  • Rail-to-customer moves
  • Customer-to-rail moves
  • Terminal and rail facility operations
  • Distribution center deliveries
  • Container and chassis inspections
  • Drop-and-hook operations when assigned

Drivers should be comfortable operating safely around rail facilities, terminals, customer locations, and congested Atlanta-area traffic.

DRIVER RESPONSIBILITIES

The driver will be responsible for:

  • Safely operating a Class A commercial motor vehicle
  • Transporting intermodal containers according to assigned routes
  • Completing required pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Inspecting the tractor, chassis, and container as required
  • Safely coupling and uncoupling equipment
  • Maintaining accurate ELD and required driving records
  • Following DOT regulations and carrier safety policies
  • Communicating with dispatch regarding loads, delays, and operational issues
  • Completing required paperwork and delivery documentation
  • Maintaining professional communication with customers and facility personnel
  • Reporting equipment, safety, or operational issues promptly
  • Maintaining a safe and professional work environment

CDL-A DRIVER REQUIREMENTS

Qualified candidates should have:

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience meeting carrier requirements
  • A safe and responsible driving history
  • Ability to meet applicable DOT and carrier qualification requirements
  • Ability to pass required drug and alcohol screening
  • Ability to meet applicable DOT medical requirements
  • Reliable transportation to and from the assigned reporting location
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to safely operate in an intermodal and terminal environment

Experience Requirement

Candidates must meet the carrier's applicable experience requirements. Current requirements include:

  • 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the previous 3 years, or
  • 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the previous 5 years

Final qualification and hiring decisions are determined by the carrier and are subject to its current safety, experience, MVR, DOT, and employment requirements.
