Schedule: Flexible Start Times Between 8:00 AM and 11:00 PM

Job Duties

• Operate commercial and noncommercial vehicles
• Drive straight trucks, box trucks, and combination vehicles
• Connect and disconnect trailers or hitches
• Cover assigned routes based on operational needs
• Complete local and regional deliveries
• Travel throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, and Florida
• Follow established routes within a 150-air-mile radius when applicable
• Complete occasional routes beyond the standard radius
• Perform vehicle inspections
• Follow all federal DOT regulations

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• Ability to operate vehicles exceeding 26,000 pounds
• Experience with straight trucks and combination vehicles
• Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and some holidays
• Ability to work shifts lasting 8-12 hours
• Willingness to train on and cover all assigned routes
• Ability to follow DOT hours-of-service requirements
• Dependable attendance and strong safety record

What You Will Do

As a CDL A Local Driver you will safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport freight on local routes while complying with DOT regulations and company safety standards. You will inspect equipment before and after each trip, complete transportation documentation, communicate with dispatch and customers, secure freight when required, and ensure timely deliveries while maintaining a professional appearance and commitment to safe driving practices.

The CDL A Local Driver supports daily transportation operations through safe operation of Class A commercial vehicles on local routes. This role requires excellent driving skills, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to safely manage changing traffic, weather, and delivery conditions.

A successful CDL A Local Driver combines technical vehicle knowledge with defensive driving practices and professional communication to ensure freight arrives safely and on time. Strong attention to safety helps protect customers, coworkers, and the public.
